The election is a long way away and the public’s memory is very, very short. Note: Arnold got re-elected.
I doubt this flip flop will have lasting effect on Jerry. If he’s losing Republican support (like he had a lot to begin with) it will be because of other things; Sunroad, pension, etc.
It’s months until any voting takes place. No one will care by then.

Although the election is far away, the impact of a flip flop is very severe. I do believe that the flip flop will have a lasting impact, because of the characteristics of the common republican.
It is months until any voting will occur however people will care.

No one is going to remember Jerry flip flopping. They’re going to remember the fires.
